Our History:
It all began when Ed was in graduate school persuing his doctorate and Barbara decided she needed a hobby to keep her busy while Ed spent all those hours studying. Our first Dal was not a conformation show dog but spent time in the obedience ring (1982). After spending one year researching the breed, our foundation bitch, "Gracie", (1983) was purchased from John and Sharon Lyons. "Gracie" later became Ch. Erin's Amazing Grace. She truly established Dals into our home and our hearts. Two and one-half years afterwards, we bred our first litter which produced our first home-bred champion - "Esther" - Ch. Planett's Morningstar of Erin. "Esther" finished her championship with a 5 point major specialty win and graced our home for 14 1/2 years and was truly a special dog. There have been many wonderful dogs since - as you can see on the site - all of which were homebred champions. We just finished #10. Our dogs are always owner-handled which sometimes handicaps our dogs, but they seem to overcome it. We show on a limited basis.
Our breeding program is deliberate, thoughtful and goal oriented. We breed on average only one litter per year. Our #1 concern is good health and temperament. In addition to these attributes, our dogs have been excellent reflections of the breed standard and we strive within our breeding program to constantly improve our lines.
As a small operation, we never have more dogs than can be active family members. All our dogs live in our home and are part of our daily lives.
We are members of the Dalmatian Club of America, the Dalmatian Club of Central New Jersey, the Dalmatian Club of Greater New York, and the New Brunswick Kennel Club.
